THE FREEDA NETWORK
FOR WEDDING & EVENT PROFESSIONALS
THE RIGHT ROOM CHANGES EVERYTHING
What if your people are already here?
The business questions you can’t ask just anyone belong in a room of ~8 peers who get it. Show up every month with your challenges. Leave with ideas and a real plan. Designed for established event business owners and application only.
02 / THE ROOM
THE FREEDA EXPERIENCE
You don’t need more contacts. You need your people.
Freeda matches established wedding and event founders into thoughtfully curated, non-competitive peer groups. Business owners in your discipline, at a similar stage with similar clients, from different markets—so you can speak candidly, compare notes, and move forward together.
01
A curated group
Small groups of 5–8 peers, selected for discipline, tenure, price point, and perspective.
NOT ANOTHER NETWORKING GROUP
02
A monthly practice
Peer conversations with tailored agendas make space for the honest questions behind running a thriving events business.
03
Full network access
Connect through the private platform, business classes, resources, and in-person gatherings around the globe.
03 / THE OUTCOMES
WHAT MEMBERS COME HERE FOR
THE REASON THE ROOM EXISTS
Not more small talk. Better answers.
The point of a Freeda group isn’t the meeting. It’s what you walk away with—clarity on the decision you’ve been avoiding, a name or referral you can trust, a plan you didn’t have yesterday.
01
Better decisions, faster
Pressure-test a pricing change, a launch, or a tough client call with people who’ve sat in the same seat—before you commit.
02
Recommendations you can trust
Vetted vendors, software, and partners from peers in your discipline, not strangers on the internet. Real experience, real receipts.
03
Support for the hiring leap
When to make your first hire, what to pay them, and how to hand off the work you can’t keep doing yourself.
04
Honest conversations with peers
The questions you can’t ask just anyone—revenue, margins, burnout, doubt—spoken plainly in a room that holds them.
FROM THE FOUNDER
WHY FREEDA EXISTS
04 / THE WHY
A note from our founder
I’ve spent more than 20 years in the wedding and events industry. I began my career at The Knot, where I worked as an editor and later led education for wedding professionals. I went on to cofound Maroo, a company built for wedding businesses. Across those roles, I’ve had a close view of how this industry works—and of the people who make it work.
I’ve seen owners build remarkable businesses, fill their calendars, and lead thriving teams while still carrying the hardest decisions alone. Success doesn’t make that feeling go away.
That’s why I started Freeda. Whatever kind of business you run, you need people who understand what you’re building and who you can be honest with about the parts that don’t show up in a portfolio. We spend so much time creating spaces for other people to connect. I wanted us to have a space of our own, where we can find our people.
Freeda is named after my great-great-aunt, an entrepreneur who built a family hatchery business in Illinois into a national brand and left a legacy in our family. Her story reminds me that what we build can reach further than we imagine, especially when we don’t have to build it alone.
If you think Freeda might be the right fit, I encourage you to apply. And, if you have any questions for me, don’t hesitate to reach out. Email me: anja@joinfreeda.com or schedule a call with me here.

FREEDA NETWORK FAQS
06 / THE DETAILS
Questions, answered.
Simply.
Everything you need to know about membership, advisory groups, and what it really looks like inside Freeda.
MEMBERSHIP, PEER GROUPS, & MORE
-
Freeda Peer group that meets monthly: Every member is matched into their own peer group of 5-8 business owners. Groups onboard together with a facilitator and meet monthly on the platform for an hour. Every member agrees to the code of conduct, which ensures that conversations remain within the community.
Full Network Access to the Platform: Every member has access to the private Freeda Network platform where they can access one another 24/7 and chat privately with one another, ask questions to the network, and get recommendations. This is also where you can RSVP for events and see what's coming!
Freeda Tables: Founder-led round tables around deep dive topics for up to 10 business owners. Think: planner percentage pricing strategies, social media collaboration best practices, and more!
Workshops & masterclasses: Outside speakers present masterclasses on money management, cashflow, P&Ls, scaling and hiring, operations, and more. Freeda advisory board members join us for honest Q&A sessions virtually. All of those end up in our Freeda video library, there for you to watch on demand anytime.
The Freeda Forecast: Every year, members are invited to join us in NYC for the annual Freeda Forecast event. This members-only event is a unique opportunity to learn from one another (the Freeda way!) in person.
Invite-Only Dinners: Members are invited to join us for invite-only dinners around the country and in hand-picked cities around the globe. These events are ticketed.
Group Retreats: Groups are invited to go on retreat with one another and to mix and mingle with other Freeda group. -
Freeda is not for everyone. It’s not designed for newbies in their first few years of business (there are plenty of resources and networks out there for them!), and it’s not designed for business owners who are only looking to network in order to find their next big client. It is designed for business owners who are serious about building lasting success, who are committed to growing, and who are looking to learn from other likeminded business owners. Freeda is for wedding industry business owners and leaders who are ready to scale their business and looking for accountability, resources, and support; focused on hiring more people and looking for best practices; growing quickly and looking for support on scaling and systems; aiming to increase revenue in the next 6–12 months; serious about building longevity into their business and career within the wedding and events industry; want to have a better hold on their retirement, health care, and insurance options; and looking for a trusted group of peers at the same level.
-
The Freeda membership fee is $2,888, paid annually. Membership includes monthly facilitated group calls with your advisory, access to all events, weekly masterclasses and workshops, a growing library of on-demand video from all of our past classes, and monthly office hours with a member from the Freeda board. If you know a current member of Freeda, you may also ask them to recommend you.

We consider multiple factors when matching members. It starts with the membership application. Once you are invited to join, you will also be invited for an interview to help us better match you to the right group. The goal is to expose members to new perspectives while gleaning insights, sharing resources, and holding one another accountable for your goals. A few of the parameters we use to match members into groups: discipline (e.g. planning, photography), price point (average revenue per booking), overhead (e.g. hard costs, large teams, freelancers), geo (e.g. where you’re based and markets you serve), goals for the year, and number of years in the business.

We consider multiple factors when matching members into groups. It starts with your membership application. Once you’re invited to join, you’ll also be invited for an interview to help us better understand how to match you with the right peers. Most groups are organized by discipline (planners with planners, photographers with photographers) so members can speak candidly about category-specific challenges and opportunities. We also run mixed-discipline groups for large-scale companies, where the focus shifts to volume operations, team management, and scaling across multiple service lines.
-
You don’t have to participate in a group. If you’d like to join to take advantage of the workshops, masterclasses, and events but do not wish to be matched to a group that meets monthly, that is completely okay. Once accepted to Freeda, you can indicate whether you would like to be matched (or not) on your onboarding survey.
-
Yes, group matching and monthly group meetings are included in the annual membership. If you would like to opt out of being matched to a group, that’s okay too.
-
Groups meet online via video call every month for one hour. Agendas are provided to each group and they are customized to that group’s challenges and goals.
-
Yes, you are welcome to request a move to a new group quarterly, and we will do our best to accommodate.
